Twin Lakes

Justin went on a fishing trip with his college buddies a couple weekends ago, so Edison and I spent the weekend at my parents' lake place.  Last summer was only the second one in my life I have ever missed going there.  It was fun to get to share my family's special place with him.  It was also fun for Edison to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Matt and Aunt Ercy, and Great Aunt Mary Sue.

We mostly hung out on the deck enjoying the view and the antics of my toddler.

We also went swimming a couple times, went boating once, and even tried canoeing.

The best part of the weekend for me was getting to help set the memorial stone for my grandparents.  My grandfather passed away in 1994 and we spread his ashes at the lake the following summer.  My grandmother passed away last year.  My family spread her ashes at the lake last summer right in the midst of our acid reflux nightmare so I was unable to be there.  I was so touched to get to help place the memorial stone.
