4 months old

Edison turned 4 months old last week and had his check up with his doctor this morning. He now weighs 16 lbs 6 oz (75th percentile) and is 26.5 inches long (95th percentile).  That would explain why he's wearing 6-month onesies and 9-month pajamas.  And why strangers are amazed when they hear he's only four months old.  And why he still wakes up 2 or 3 times every night to eat.

He had a big month from a developmental standpoint.  He is very alert these days and is always looking around trying to figure out what's going on. He likes to sit up and frequently gets frustrated when he's laying down and can't see (he grunts and strains to sit up on his own).  His favorite spot is in his bumbo playing with toys while mom and dad cook.  He also likes to practice standing while being held.

He is a very talkative little guy and likes to have "conversations" with us, especially on his way home from school.  He still growls and giggles a lot, too.  He thinks grabbing his feet during diaper changes is pretty funny.

The biggest news this month is that he is rolling over.  My trick to put him on an activity mat in the middle of our bed while I shower is no longer safe, so I invested in the largest and tackiest piece of baby furniture I could find: the jumperoo.  He loves it.  I'm going to have my hands full with this little big boy!

It was once again a little difficult to get a good picture with the bear.  Here are the best of the attempts.

Sophie has been feeling left out of the blog these days.  Here is a recent picture to make her feel better.
