Hiking with Sophie

October is one of my favorite months in Coeur d'Alene.  The crowds are gone, the weather is still decent, life slows down a little bit, and our house is warm and cozy.  The best part, though, is the way the light falls and makes the colors so incredibly vibrant.

Today was the first sunny day in a few weeks, plus I needed a break from an unpleasant project, so I took Sophie for a hike around Tubbs Hill.  It was as good for me as it was for her.
