July

I am blogging from the yard at my parents' lake place, where I am recovering from a particularly grueling filing of my company's quarterly financial statements.

In addition to work, July was a busy month for us. The weekend after the 4th, my brother came for his annual visit from Vienna. Funny, this is the only picture I got of his visit.

The following weekend, we took Edison on his first real camping trip. He had been camping in the yard of a cabin before, but this time there was no escape plan. We took the boat to a boat-up campground and slept in a tent. E loved it, especially the tent. We only spent one night as I helped throw a surprise birthday party for a good friend the next day.

The following weekend, Justin took Edison down to the farm to harvest while I stayed home to work and go to a fundraiser (called Wine, Women and Shoes...so no Justins allowed).

Last weekend, two sets of friends came up from Boise to spend the weekend with us. We went to Art on the Green and spent a lot of time in the boat.

After dropping them off at the airport, we took Edison to the science museum in Spokane. We had to literally drag him out as they were closing.

Speaking of science, Edison's preschool is having "Super Science Summer" where each week has a theme and each day has a science experiment or lesson. So far they have studied geology, horticulture, the human body, and chemical reactions, among others. It makes me love his school even more.
