We spent a week in Kona on the big island of Hawaii. We went to the same place two years ago when Edison was only 3 months old. We had such a fantastic time. On the advice of some friends, we found the perfect beach and spent every morning there. Then we would head back to the condo for a nap. And then we would either hang out at the pool or explore one of the closer beaches. And that is literally all we did. It was so relaxing. It was also very fun watching Edison, who loved it so much he keeps asking when we can go back.
A panoramic view of our favorite beach
A panoramic view from our condo
Sunset from our condo
One of Edison's favorite activities was "surfing" on the boogie board
Building sand castles was another favorite
He also loved snorkeling. Seriously. He would hold my hand and point out fish to me which was by far my favorite part of the trip. We even got to see turtles. And now that we're home, he insists on snorkeling in the bathtub every night.
He also enjoyed just playing in the water with us.
We made one short trip to a cultural site
And another to a scenic viewpoint
We also recreated some of the pictures we took 2 years ago. Edison did not want to cooperate.
Other random pictures:
At dinner one night
On the way to the beach one morning
Edison took this picture
He got to drink out of a coconut
He did amazing on the airplane and was the cutest little traveler, too
And finally, we attempted some family pictures before we left. This was the only one that was remotely decent.
