Fishing, family, and sad dog

Two weeks ago, Justin's dad came up for their annual fly fishing trip. They only managed to catch one fish between the two of them this year. At least the weather was nice.

More of the Druffels came over for dinner that night. Edison got to hold his cousin, Hadley, with much better results this time.

Last weekend, we went down to Colton to attend the wedding of a high school classmate. Edison got to hang out at the farm while Justin and I had a fun adult evening catching up with old friends.

I have been incredibly busy working on some big projects at work, so Justin has been getting the after school time with Edison until my deadlines pass.  They go on fun adventures to the park, check out books at the library, fly kites, and go fishing. 

To add to the chaos in our lives right now, Sophie had surgery last week to remove a growth from the end of her tail. She is currently sporting a plastic syringe casing over her tail and a cone around her neck. She is miserable. To make matters worse, the incision got infected over the weekend and Sophie became what Justin lovingly called a "blood sprinkler" every time she wagged her tail. She has been treated and is doing much better now. Poor dog.
